Hello BaW12ers!!!
There will be three separate files of our audioconference on 31May12 in chronological order. My computer, or my Skype connection, had a couple of glitches and the recording was interrupted. I always resumed the recording as fast as I could.
I used MP3 Skype Recorder and it recorded the conference quite well in stereo.
Enjoy!  :-)

On 18 June 2007 my 6th grade students interviewed Michael at his home in Adelaide, Australia. Enjoy!

Sunday Jan 23, 2011

Michael Coghlan gave a fabulous presentation for Baw11 participants earlier today (Jan 23) titled "Synch and Swim: The Value of Synchronous Learning Environments". It took place at Yahoo Messenger. Each participant had the Powerpoint open (the link was pasted in the YM text chat area) and they followed slide by slide. Michael interrupted his session every so many minutes to give participants the mic and also answered questions keyboarded in the text chat area.
"In the session Michael discussed the use of synchronous and asynchronous tools for teaching in different contexts and environments by briefly reviewing background information. During the presentation he got participants involved asking them to talk about their experience and their context. He went beyond the tools we have covered and talked about other communication tools that make an impact on the way of teaching. It was a very socially lively session. Some participants asked questions and gave valuable contributions by using text chat area or mic." (Larissa)
Here's the recording and the ppt presentation. You're also welcome to visit Michael's session wiki page.

At 7:40 a.m. today (in Portugal), 16:40 Yakutsk time, I had a wonderful chat with Irina's EFL students at Yakutsk State University about the "Influence of TV". Actually, I was interviewed by them. They had prepared questions in advance. It was very interesting. Congratulations, ladies, on your wonderful English!
We used Skype and I recorded the session with Irina's permission. It takes about 16 mins. However, I was invited to continue listening in on the remainder of their lesson, so the recording is a little longer and the sound isn't as clear.
Take a look at the screenshots I took.
